What a month! God’s amazing and provides even for me! Life without internet is rough!

What is all this ramblin’ all about? I’m just enjoying being here! I know it sounds cheesy, but I’m starting to get in to the “groove” of doing things, even though that “groove” is all over the place at times.

Fabio and I are so excited about what’s been going on. The group here is growing, and it seems like God is putting people in our daily (sometimes twice a day!). The LORD is also providing people that desire to go deeper, and even form part of a core group for the church plant. Very exciting! We are also seeking a place we can rent and start having the beginnings of a Sunday service. I’m totally pumped! PLEASE PRAY FOR US! We need to take time to really listen and watch for how God is opening and closing doors, and know how keep moving when we need to, as well as waiting when we need to.

Fabio was out of town for about two weeks, taking some much needed vacation, and came back very refreshed and excited. It was good to be apart for a time, stepping out of each others lives to think, pray, evaluate, pray, vision, and, you guessed it, pray. We’re ready to take some serious steps in forming the present group in to a more consistent ministry. PLEASE PRAY FOR US!

I’m also getting to know the folks in the group better, learning how to build relationships with them and how to spend time together. For example, two guys in the group and I discovered we have a common love for food… And not just food, but good food. “When there’s hunger… There’s always friends!” says the “Food Club” poster. But don’t worry, I’m not just eating.

I’m learning how important it is to spend time with people. One of my friends, G, who I mentioned before, ended up in the hospital. I slept two night on the floor next to his bed. We’d talk a bit, sit in silence a bit, eat a bit, talk some more, pray a bit. I knew it wasn’t so much what I was saying, or what we were doing, or even what we were eating, but more that I was there, a presence by his side. Many folks from the group went and spent time with him and stayed the night as well. Ministry of presence is SO important here. PLEASE PRAY FOR US!

Is there a theme here? Yeah, I’m learning to pray. Stopping to pray with people, being consistent in personal prayer (and seeing how I easy I can get off track if I’m not communicating with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Also courage to pray. I spent some time this month with a guy from the Netherlands. He’s 19, doesn’t believe God exists or that that would even be possible, yet believes in aliens, reads like crazy, and is very intelligent. I talked to him about the love of Christ, and how Jesus is the ultimate expression of love. I asked if I could pray for him, and he said as long as there wasn’t any magic or tricks involved, I said no, but that I’m going to say, “LORD, please reveal yourself to A---- through the love of Jesus, amen.” He said, “Oh, that’s not too crazy.” And I said, “No, it’s not.” Then I looked him in the eye and prayed for him, those exact words, no more, no less.

What does this mean? I don’t know. I believe A---- was very challenged that night to re-think his paradigm, his beliefs and who or what he think God is. What will happen? I don’t know. But I know I need to pray more.

Anyway, PLEASE PRAY FOR US. Fabio, Nara, Giuseppe and myself as we seek to minister, really minister and meet the need of other people through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your prayers.

Please also remember Vida Nueva, the church in La Coruña I was working at for the last year and a half. They are experiencing persecution by neighbors and the local authorities in the form of denying entrance to their building. I’m currently writing from La Coruna, and had the opportunity to worship and play with the church as we gathered outside the sealed building this last Sunday. Please pray for justice, mercy, peace, and reconciliation with the neighbors and county authorities.

I’m also on a retreat here, with a focus on church planting. Pray for rest, vision, courage and drive to return to Barcelona and work and pray unceasingly for the expansion of the Kingdom there.

As always, please comment or send an email if you’d like to know more!

Grace and Peace,
Nate
